Meranti ranges from pale-purple to reddish/brown. Resulting from the number of variants being marketed underneath the botanical species name Shorea, however termed Meranti, there will be some colour variation across the timber species. It's got a reasonably coarse grain but even in texture with a gorgeous ribbon feature.The heartwood is a light gol
